TalkRocket Go Communication Aid App for iPad and iPod Touch Now Funded in Ontario by the Ministry of Health

People with speech disabilities in Ontario can now receive a 75 percent discount on the purchase of an iPad or iPod Touch preloaded with MyVoice’s TalkRocket Go – English or French version – communication aid app.

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) July 11, 2013

MyVoice Inc. is pleased to announce that people in Ontario with speech disabilities can now receive the company’s TalkRocket Go communication aid app, in English or French, along with an iPad or iPod Touch at just one-quarter of the cost, thanks to the Ontario Ministry of Health’s Assistive Devices Program.

“As a parent of a teen with disabilities, I know how quickly the costs add up,” said Tony Gross, MyVoice’s Community Director. “This new funding means that Ontarians with a speech disability now have access to a more affordable and accessible communication aid: TalkRocket Go.”

Already, TalkRocket Go has helped thousands of Canadians with speech disabilities communicate out loud. The app uses voice synthesis technology to provide lifelike verbal communication for people with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Aphasia, Parkinson’s disease, and many others. The results are profound: TalkRocket Go helps users participate in social life, access education, gain employment, and share the simple joy of speaking. Now, the same transformative experience will be financially accessible to even more people in Ontario.

Toronto Star profiles TalkRocket Go app for Autism and Cerebral Palsy

A new article by Baseer Syed in the Toronto Star highlights some of our amazing young adult users with Autism and Cerebral Palsy. Its part of the Star’s new focus on Autism and special needs, and features some great quotes from user families and the TalkRocket Team:

“Michael, who has autism, uses the app on his iPad. His mother, Brenda Kosky Deskin, has been using the apps ‘locabularies’ to help the 17-year-old give orders at Starbucks. The GPS-powered feature gives the user a selection of phrases relevant to where he or she is located. So when Michael enters the coffee shop he’s served up a selection of orders to say to the barista.”

Press Release: New French-Language Communication Aid App from MyVoice Inc. Brings Assistive Technology to Millions of Francophones with Speech Disabilities

French-speakers that historically had limited assistive technology choices finally have a complete AAC communication aid app for kids and adults: TalkRocket Go Français for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.

Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) August 16, 2012

MyVoice Inc. today announced TalkRocket Go Français, a new app that will help millions of Francophones with communication disabilities to speak out loud.

The development marks a new chapter for the disability communities in France, Quebec, Switzerland, Belgium, and several African Francophone countries.

Previously, French speakers with disabilities were excluded from the benefits of new assistive apps for devices like the iPad because these products were rarely developed for French.

Now, with the launch of TalkRocket Go Français, an estimated 1.5 million Francophones with speech disabilities have an effective and affordable option for verbal communication.
